Gigs Calendar 0.4 beta

Last night, I wrapped up all of the features that I think will be making it into 0.4.  I still need to write up some documentation and examples, but I’d be grateful if anyone could download the development version of the plugin to look for any gaping holes/glaring bugs that I have somehow missed.  There [...]

Calling all Londoners

I’d like to ask a few of you a couple of questions about your fair city.  I would greatly appreciate if you’d let me send you a quick email.  Send me an email at “dan” at this domain or leave a comment if you wouldn’t mind.
Thanks!

Google problems sorted out

Somehow, the WordPress option to hide this blog from search engines was checked.  I don’t know why I would have checked that, but I can unhappily report that it does work very well to keep you out of Google.  I should be showing up soon, hopefully with decent PageRank because of all of the awesome [...]

Auto-Upgrading in WordPress 2.5

WordPress 2.5 comes with a cool feature that lets you automatically upgrade plugins from the admin panel via FTP.  This is very handy for most people, but there’s a problem with it.  If you’ve done any customization in the “templates” folder, all of your changes will be lost.  Forever.
Be sure to backup all of your [...]

Gigs Calendar 0.3.3

Version 0.3.3 is another quick bug fix release. Below are the bugs that I’ve fixed.

In WordPress 2.2.x, categories were not showing up in the dropdown box in the settings page.
Also in WordPress 2.2.x, this version was completely messed up because I used some functions that weren’t included until WP 2.3.  That’s what I get for [...]

Gigs Calendar 0.3.2

The new version of the Gigs Calendar plugin is available for download.  This fixes several of the outstanding bugs in 0.3.x (but not all of them).  The fixes are…

Updated the I18n file.  In short, this means that translators can finally translate all of the strings available in version 0.3.x.
Squashed a bug that gave you a [...]

No time like the present

Dougal Campbell, a developer of WordPress, posts about the importance of upgrading.  Hackers are actively exploiting security problems on versions of WordPress older than 2.3.3 (the latest release was 2.5).
If you’re running an older version of WordPress, you could be putting yourself at risk.  If you aren’t comfortable upgrading your WordPress install, make some geeky [...]

Feedback problems

If you’ve sent me a feedback email from the plugin in the last 12 hours or so, I haven’t gotten it.  The problem with my email has been fixed, so you may need to resend your feedback.

I should have complained sooner

It figures that my files come back immediately after I posted about my problems.  Well, that makes fixing this site a lot easier.  Once I get a few more things done, I’ll probably work on some more bug fixes.  It might be some time next week before I get a release out as I haven’t [...]

I’m back… kinda…

If you’ve been to my site before, you’ve probably noticed by now that my theme looks different than it did before.  That, quite simply, is because my old host (Dreamhost) has apparently had a major file server crash.  Currently, all of my files are completely inaccessible to me and have been for the last 63+ [...]
